Abstract
Successful innovation in higher education is limited by our abilities to lead change in our institutions. Building on quality improvement paradigms, this presentation will provide lessons from successful innovators, for managing change and minimizing resistance in established organizations. Attendees will apply the lessons in discussions of relevant organizational change scenarios.

If you make slide presentations with PowerPoint, Keynote, Slideshare, or other presentation software, WordPress can do much more than just provide a download-the-ppt link for interested readers.
There are several methods for embedding and displaying slide presentations in WordPress posts or pages. Some methods allow you to easily embed a presentation. Others go further and enable you to use WordPress to deliver live, full screen slide presentations without using PowerPoint or Keynote. You can even write, edit, and create a slide presentation within WordPress using the Post editor.
Jim Luke will demo and provide instructions on how you can easily use WordPress for slide presentations. He’ll also share tips for how to choose the right method. Many of these methods work for both WordPress.com and self-hosted WordPress installations.
To register go to the Meetup Site.
The demo, basic info, instructions, etc are available here at a new post I created at Malartools.malartu.org on how to connect Powerpoint-style presentations with WordPress.

Malartu Inc is helping professors find their voice on the web at the Teaching Professor Technology Conference 2014 in Denver. Here’s the presentation that Jean Ramirez and Jim Luke of Lansing Community College are giving about “Blogging to Engage Students, Enhance Learning, and Save Time”, or in other words, how to get your own voice on the web and connect. Slides and links after the jump:
Aspirational Goal: Bug the heck out of your IT department until they cave.
Good: Get your own vanilla hosting accounts at most any commercial webhost (such as GoDaddy, Dreamhost, WPEngine, etc.) and install WP using the 5-min install
Better: contact http://malartu.org
Better: go to http://reclaimhosting.com
